Future Trips

Plans for future short-term mission projects in 2018-19 are being prayerfully considered.

Current Locations of Ministry

Liberia, Africa
Having completed the guesthouse project in Liberia in March of 2017 and not having a trip in the first quarter of 2018, we are prayerfully considering our next project in Liberia.  The likelihood of a 2018 trip is low due to logistical barriers but 2019 is a definite possibility.

Palawan, Philippines
HFM enjoyed working in the Brookes Point area on the island of Palawan in January of 2018.  There we began construction of dormitories for people to stay in while attending the Christian Training Center that we started back in 2015.  Local church leaders can come together for education, conferences and ministry opportunities.

Children’s outreach, ladies ministry, preaching/teaching and “clean drinking water” projects were among a few things that we accomplished during this trip.  Much is still to be done there.  If you are interested in helping with construction costs, please feel free to donate now.  Additionally, the on-site missionary, Craig Sutherland, has recently completed a translation of the New Testament.  Funds are being received to help publish and distribute these bibles.

Zacapa, Guatemala
Zacapa, Guatemala will continue to be a focus area for HFM.   After completing an exciting trip in May of 2018, we have already begun to plan for our 2019 trip.   The dates planned dates are Saturday, May 11th – Saturday, May 18th, 2019.  We will partner again with “Hope of Life, International,” a well-organized and established ministry that is currently serving the needs of the people in the area.

During our May 2018 trip, we took part of our team to a remote area working with the Mayan people – a little-reached people group in Guatemala (less than 2% evangelical Christian).  We will be working on a special project to help develop a mission outpost with the Mayan community.  For more details please see the video on the Home page.

Specialized skills are not required to participate in any of our trips, but any kind of construction skills are always helpful. Training is required for participating in medical outreach opportunities.  An online application process will be opening in the coming weeks.

Other projects may include, but are not limited to:

  • Construction of homes, medical facilities, dorms and ministry buildings
  • Mobile Medical Clinics
  • Orphanage ministry/outreach
  • School Programs
  • Hunger relief
  • Ministry programs & evangelistic outreaches (music, drama, children’s teaching)
  • Care-giving at elderly home and Rescue Center
  • Sports outreach
  • Light maintenance and repair work.

 Lummi Native Americans
There are plans for continued outreach with the Lummi Native Americans in the state of Washington.  HFM missionary, Lisa Miller, leads this project sharing the love of Christ as they served on the Reservation through children’s ministry, construction and relationship building.  God’s provision was evident during the July 2018 trip.

Other potential trips are still in planning stages but are not yet confirmed. For information regarding efforts with long term mission projects, please visit the “Our Missionaries” tab.

Interested participants with additional questions regarding dates and details for ongoing trips mentioned above are welcomed to contact Hands & Feet Ministries’ director, Jay Buckhalter at jay@handsfeet.org – (724.852.2834) for more details.
